A month in to her new role at IFB, recent graduate, Phoebe Rennie, gives the inside scoop into her first few weeks as a new member of #TeamIFB.
As a recent graduate with a Public Relations degree, I was both excited and nervous to be joining IFB as a Business Development Support Executive, having had no real experience within this job role.
I came across the role on LinkedIn and found it very encouraging to see that this position would be suited to a graduate like myself, so I took it upon myself to take the plunge and apply. After two successful interviews, it was a quick turnaround and I started my position just one week after my second interview.
My first few days at IFB were structured around an induction plan which was made prior to my arrival; this involved everything from staff introductions, an office walkthrough, intranet training and general familiarisation within my role. At the end of my induction week, I felt relaxed and settled into my surroundings as everyone made me feel very welcome and at home.
My second week saw the excitement of Offshore Europe. I felt lucky to have joined the week before this event as I was able to attend twice with the team, as well as assist in the creation of social media and blog posts surrounding, and during, OE19. Attending this event also made me more aware of IFB’s wide range of customers and increased my knowledge of the services that IFB have to offer. This in turn increased my confidence when dealing with customers, which is a key part of my role.
Fast forward to Week 6 and my first month with #TeamIFB has flown by, and I believe this is down to the super team who I am working alongside, as well as the fun, innovative and encouraging work culture. IFB’s core values aren’t just there for show; the team definitely do take pride in delivering exceptional customer experiences, we value and respect one another, encourage innovative ideas and of course, we always have fun getting it done.
I very much look forward to what the future holds with IFB. I am eager to learn more within my role and gain as much experience as possible. I am lucky to have quite a diverse position within IFB, so there are always new challenges and opportunities.
