I heard recently that the UKCS is generating and moving more data than Google. Which for those in the industry won’t come as much of a surprise as it has always been a data rich and data driven environment.
We really are in an amazing moment in time of a societal change in how we produce and consume energy – Energy Transition – and the cognates in the industry and beyond being supported by dramatic Digital Transformation at the same time. While younger organisations have the culture and behaviour to do this, the real time, data driven needs are challenging for any ecosystem, especially one as regulated and aged as part of the Oil & Gas industry. But OE19 seems to show that it’s getting on top of this enormous ask really, really well.
Here at IFB, we have been delivering and supporting boring digital pipework and platforms for over 23 years. We combine our services with innovative actual work and experiences with a team that understands and supports digital change and drive. This has always included the analytics, science, real time, on site and remote data management and the delivery of intelligence from all of this - helping transform this and other industries.
In fact, without our predictably boring reliability much of this really clever stuff wouldn’t work.
OE19 looks like the most digitally smart yet – smarter event, agenda and content management, without a doubt, the most technology informed line up of speakers and sessions including the StartUp Village supported by TechX, the ENGenious Zone covering Automation AI, Robotics and Smart Communications – and of course it’s in P&J Live – the UKs newest and smartest exhibition and conference space – ready to accommodate 36,000 visitors during the next few days.
It’s never been a better time to be boring.
